This Privacy Policy explains how Five Mile Beach Company LLC, operating as Five Mile Beach Co. (“Five Mile Beach,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, and shares information when you visit fivemilebeach.co or make a purchase. We do not sell your personal information.

Information We Collect

When you place an order:

• Name, email address, and shipping address
• Payment information (processed by Stripe — we never store card details)
• Order history

When you create an account:

• Email address and password (hashed — we never see your plain-text password)

When you sign up for our newsletter:

• Email address and the page where you signed up

Automatically when you browse:

• Pages visited, time on site, referring URL (via Google Analytics)
• Browser type, device type, and page performance data (via Vercel Analytics)
• IP address (used for security, rate limiting, and analytics)

How We Use Your Information

• To process and fulfill your orders
• To send order confirmations and shipping updates via email
• To send newsletter emails if you have opted in (you can unsubscribe at any time)
• To respond to customer support requests
• To understand how people use the site and improve the experience
• To protect against fraud and abuse

We do not use your information to advertise to third parties or sell it to anyone.

Third-Party Services

We share data with the following services only as necessary to operate the store:

• Stripe — payment processing. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored by us. Stripe’s own privacy policy governs how they handle payment data.
• Printful — order fulfillment. Your name and shipping address are shared to produce and ship your order.
• Supabase — account and order data storage. Data is stored on servers in the United States.
• Resend — transactional email delivery. Your email address and relevant order details (items, totals, shipping address, and partial payment method) are passed to Resend to send order confirmations, shipping notifications, and password reset emails.
• Klaviyo — marketing email platform. If you subscribe to our newsletter, your email address is stored in both our database and Klaviyo, which we use to send marketing emails. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting us.
• Google Analytics — site usage analytics. Google Analytics sets a cookie (_ga) that collects anonymized data about pages visited and browsing behavior. You can opt out via your browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out extension.
• Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights — performance and usage data. Vercel collects anonymized data about page load performance and visitor behavior to help us improve the site. No personally identifiable information is collected by these tools.
• Adobe Fonts (Typekit) — web fonts. Fonts are loaded from Adobe’s servers, which may log your IP address and font usage.
• Vercel — website hosting. Standard server logs (including IP addresses) may be retained briefly.

Cookies

We use the following cookies:

• Session cookie — keeps you logged in. Set when you sign in to your account; expires when you sign out or your session ends. This cookie is essential for account functionality.
• Order token cookie — used briefly after checkout to display your order confirmation. Expires automatically after 5 minutes.
• _ga (Google Analytics) — tracks anonymized site usage. Set by Google; typically persists for up to 2 years. You can opt out via browser settings or the Google Analytics opt-out extension.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling session cookies will prevent you from staying logged in. Disabling the analytics cookie will not affect site functionality.

Email Communications

We send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, password resets) as part of operating the store. These are not optional while you have an active order.

If you have subscribed to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by emailing support@fivemilebeach.co. We will process your request promptly.

Data Retention

We retain order information for as long as necessary for tax and legal purposes (typically 7 years). Account data is retained until you request deletion. Newsletter subscription records are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing support@fivemilebeach.co. We will respond within 30 days. Note that deletion of order data may not be possible where retention is required by law (e.g., tax records).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
